The Skipton Academy attains record GCSE results

The Skipton Academy has achieved its highest GCSE results to date, reflecting the hard work, commitment, resilience, and dedication of its student, their families and the staff.

Results Day was filled with joy and emotion as Year 11 students gathered with the families and teachers to open their envelopes. The smiles, hugs and celebrations that followed were a clear reminder of the years of effort and determination which led to this moment.

For many students, these results open the door to exciting new opportunities including advancing to sixth form, starting apprenticeships, or pursuing vocational training. The achievements reflect both individual effort and the robust support systems within the Academy community.

Richard McManus, Executive Principal, said “These fantastic results were well earned by the students who have been dedicated throughout their time with us. Massive thanks must go to their families and staff who have supported them throughout their journey. The Skipton Academy has never been stronger. With dedicated staff, ambitious students, and supportive families, we are proud to see our school thriving and achieving new heights every year.”

Staff across the school echoed these sentiments, noting how students rose to every challenge. Extra revision sessions, mentoring, and one-to-one support helped many to push themselves further than they thought possible.

Year 11 students will be remembered not only for their grades, but also for the example they have set – demonstrating that with hard work, confidence, and support, anything is possible at The Skipton Academy.
