Ofsted Praises Nidderdale High School’s Culture of Belonging

Moorlands Learning Trust is delighted to celebrate the positive outcome of Nidderdale High School’s recent Ofsted inspection, which recognised the school’s strong commitment to ensuring every child feels valued, supported and able to succeed.
Inspectors praised the school’s inclusive and welcoming culture, identifying its strong sense of belonging as a defining feature of school life. The report noted that “everyone is made to feel welcome at Nidderdale High School” and highlighted the caring relationships between staff and students, alongside the school’s commitment to removing barriers to learning and helping all young people thrive.
The inspection also recognised the innovative NiddVenture programme, which provides students with opportunities to develop confidence, resilience and leadership skills through outdoor learning, volunteering and community engagement.
Headteacher Kath Jordan said: “We are delighted that the work we do to support all our young people has been recognised in our recent inspection. Meeting the new ‘Expected Standard’ is a high benchmark to reach and we are very proud to have achieved this standard across such a wide range of measures. The report reflects the hard work and commitment of all staff, leaders and students and the support of our families and community.”
The Ofsted report acknowledges the collective efforts of the entire school community in creating an environment where students feel valued, supported and ready to learn. It also highlights the positive progress students make throughout their education and the strong support provided for students with additional needs.
