Eastburn Primary School Achieves GOLD standard in School Games Mark 2025/26

Eastburn Primary School is delighted to announce that it has once again been awarded the GOLD standard for the School Games Mark for the 2025/26 academic year.
The School Games Mark is a government-led award scheme which recognises schools’ commitment to developing competitive sport within both the school and the wider community.
Achieving GOLD standard for a second consecutive year highlights Eastburn’s continued dedication to providing high-quality Physical Education and meaningful sporting opportunities for all pupils.
As part of meeting the award criteria, the school continues to:
- Promote high levels of participation in the School Games, supporting children to achieve at least 60 active minutes each day (20 minutes for children with SEND)
- Organise inclusive competitions that offer positive experiences tailored to pupils’ confidence, motivation and ability
- Support personal development through youth engagement and leadership initiatives
- Provide equal opportunities for all pupils, irrespective of gender
Speaking about the achievement, PE Lead Harriet Brewer, said the school is incredibly proud to have secured the GOLD standard once again, recognising the collective effort of pupils and staff in creating a positive and inclusive sporting culture.
Eastburn Primary School looks forward to building on this achievement in the years ahead.
